Does anyone know where to download early Dead stuff ('65, '66), or Jerry and Pigpen, or Black Mountain Boys, stuff like that. I know there are tapes out there but have no idea how to find them.

there was a HUGE torrent package awhile back that featured nothing but early pre-Dead Jerry ( and some pigpen ). Pretty much all that exists.

bt.etree had a Sleepy Hollow Hog Stompers recording (circa 1962) up a while back. Here's a link.

I've got an early (I don't have it on me right now so I can't read exactly when) Hogstomper's. It has Jerry trying to sound like Roscoe Holcomb singing the original "Man of Constant Sorrow".

I'll send a copy to the first five (nod to jglynn, who has been kind to others- my turn to pay it forward...) who email me with particulars at Amosearle@earthlink.net.
